Wow where did the time go????? It felt like yesterday that I started the journey to become healthier, happier and more adventurous life. So have I accomplished it? This is a great question. I have lost over 50lb in the last 12 months. I started going out more and meeting a ton of new people. Also have done a ton of traveling. I have been to 20 new cites this past year. So in reflection I have made great strides to a happier life. So I will continue to make my life healthier and happier. So what is next for me or the next challenge I am going to take up bike riding. I like to be able to bike 20 plus miles a week. I am now researching the best bike to purchase for this goal. Any suggestions would be great.

So earlier today I went up to the Tourneau store in Boca Raton. If you ever get a chance to go to Town Center Mall stop by the store. Ask for my guy Ivan. He is will be able to take care of you. He made the process very smooth.

So the Suunto core watch is a very light weight watch. I it will catch you off gaurd. What I like about it is it’s clean lines and not over the top like other watchs that do ABC. Below is some back ground of the watch. If you are ever in need of a great outdoor watch this is one to grab.

For the vertically inclined, the Suunto Core is the professional benchmark for ABC (altimeter, barometer, compass) wristops. Forecast the weather, know how far you’ve gone, navigate, and make intelligent decisions in the outdoors.

Suunto Oy, based in Finland, is a company that produces and markets sports precision instruments for Diving, Training and Outdoor sports. Headquartered in Vantaa, Suunto employs more than 500 people worldwide, and its products are sold in over 100 countries. Suunto is a subsidiary of Amer Sports Corporation with sister brands Wilson, Atomic, Salomon, Precor, Arc’teryx and Mavic.

Suunto is best known for its dive computers, heart rate monitors, Outdoor watches and traditional magnetic compasses. In 1933 the company’s founder, Tuomas Vohlonen, a surveyor by profession, applied for a patent for a unique method of filling and sealing a lightweight compass housing made entirely of celluloid with liquid to dampen the needle and protect it from shock and wear due to excessive motion. In 1935, Volhonen was granted a patent on his design, which went into mass production a year later as the wrist-mount M-311. Suunto introduced a compact liquid sighting compass, the m/40, during World War II for artillery officers and other users needing a precision instrument for measuring an azimuth.

The company grew rapidly after World War II, supplying compasses and other navigational instruments to both civilian and military markets.

In 1996, Suunto Oy acquired Recta AG, a Swiss compass manufacturer. Suunto Oy was in turn acquired by Amer Sports Group in 1999, which now owns Recta AG.

Swatch is a brand name for a line of wrist watches from the Swatch Group, a Swiss conglomerate with vertical control of the production of Swiss watches and related products. In 1982, Swatch was conceived and it was introduced to the market in Switzerland in March 1983.

This concept was realised in the early 1980s, under the leadership of the then ETA SA’s CEO, Ernst Thomke with a small team of enthusiastic watch engineers led by Elmar Mock and Jacques Müller , who had had the idea to use the case back as a movement main plate , as it had been done to realise the thinnest watch in the world, the Delirium. It was also designed for easy assembling.

Conceived at the beginning as a standard timekeeper in plastic, Franz Sprecher, a marketing consultant hired by Thomke to give the project an outsider’s consideration, soon led the project into what it has become: a fun “Brand” with a full brand identity and marketing concept, instead of developing just another watch collection, which could have soon been matched by the competition.

Swatch was originally intended to re-capture entry level market share lost by Swiss manufacturers during the aggressive growth of Japanese companies such as Seiko in the 1960s and 1970s, and to re-popularize analog watches at a time when digital watches had achieved wide popularity. The launch of the new Swatch brand in 1983, then led under the auspices of Nicolas G. Hayek, was marked by bold new styling and design.

The first collection of twelve Swatch models was introduced on March 1, 1983 in Zürich, Switzerland. Initially the price ranged from CHF 39.90 to CHF 49.90 but was standardized to CHF 50.00 in autumn of the same year. Sales targets were set to one million timepieces for 1983 and 2.5 million the year after. With an aggressive marketing campaign and a very reasonable price for a Swiss-made watch, it gained instant popularity in its home market. Compared to conventional watches, a Swatch was 80% cheaper to produce by fully automating assembly and reducing the number of parts from the usual 91 or more to only 51 components.

Popularity
Swatches enjoyed their peak popularity during the mid-1980s. Such ’80s fads included wearing two Swatches and using a Swatch as a ponytail band. Some models, like Pop Swatch, allowed wearers to attach Swatches directly to clothing. During this same time, Swatch introduced the idea of partnering with noted artists, including Keith Haring and others. Artist watches gave a new cachet to what had previously been a trendy youth article.

So it has been a few weeks since my last post. So I have received emails and calls what is going on is everything okay? Well to answer the question NO. Not everything has gone well. My loving grandmother past away at a ripe old age of 90. She was a special women in my life and will never be replaced. Then work like most of us took over my life and I lost focus on my training. Now with 8 weeks till the end of the year I have to refocus myself. I still have 20 lb to go to hit my goal for 2011. So this weeks upcoming challenge is to start walking. So over the past week I started to walk/run3 miles each day.

So here is my challenge for you start walking each day. I know I am keeping it simple but when you are trying to make change should keep it all simple. So for the first day walk half a mile. And the second day walk two thirds of mile. Day three walk a mile. And keep that up for seven days. If you add this into your routine with the sit ups and pushups. You will see your body transform over the up coming weeks. When you feel up to it add to your more miles to your routine.

Please send me your comments I love to discuss with you how your progress is going.

So how are you doing? I can tell you that I am trying my best to keep up with what I have added to my life. But hey this is what happens when you want to make changes. So for the last two weeks I have been drinking a ton of water and I can tell you I am not nearly as hunger as I used to be. Drinking somewhere in the neighbor hood of 140 ounces of water your body is having to work a lot more to burn the water off. Last week I weight in at 259lb and this week after adding in the sit ups I am weighting a light 256lb. So as of right now I am on pace to get to my goal. But you have to remember this is not about what the scale says. This is about how you feel. If you do everything the way you should then over time your body will respond and you will see the results.

Alright so we have added water and sit ups. The next thing to add to your daily task is push ups. Push ups are one of the most common exercises. We started to doing them in gym class in elementry school. Push ups work out so many body parts at once like your chest, abs, triceps, shoulders and torso. The nice thing about sit ups and push ups is that you do not need to go to a gym you can do them anywhere you are. This simple routine will do wonders and over the next several weeks we will come back to it and up the amount of push ups you do in a day.

So as of right now we are only doing two exercise which is 30 sit ups per day and now we are going to add 10 push ups per day. I know 10 is a low number but the key is to start somewhere you can handle. If you want to do more do it. I am trying to build up to 100 push ups and 200 sit ups per day. I know this is going to take time but it is what it is a goal. If you are looking for a way to keep your info or help in locating an app for your phone shoot me an email and I will send you some sites and app suggestions.

I believe you can do this. Please join me in this journey.

Well I hope everyone had a great weekend. I know with the start of NFL football seasons the weekends become a Blur. So last week’s challange was a pretty hard one. I had over 1,064.7 ounces of water. This is alot of water!! I started last week at 263lb. This morning I wieght in at a cool 259lb not bad for a week. So let’s think about what should be week two’s challange.

One of the most important things in getting in shape is to get your core in strength up. The best way of doing this is by doing sit ups. I think that 30 sit ups per day should do the trick to start. All you need is five minutes in the morning and it can make a huge diference in your life but let’s face it you like most Americans won’t be able to do even 10 so this could be a big stretch for you. But, you can do it. Also don’t forget you still need to keep the water in take at 55% of your body weight in ounces. I hope you are able to shake the football out of your system and put some work in on your body. Please post some pictures of you doing sit ups.

So welcome to my first challenge!!!!! So I have been thinking about what would it be. So I wanted to make my first challenge to be easy but how easy is it to make a change that you have never done before? Well let’s find out so after some hard thinking this week will be simple try to drink the right amount of water. I have read many sites and talk to several personal trainers. What I have read and told is that you should drink In ounces 55% of your body weight. I have been over weight for the last 10 years. At the start of the year I weighed 312lb today I weigh 263lb. I am looking to get down to 220lb by the end of the year. So most Americans do not do the simplest thing drinking water. If you do not drink enough water you will retain to much water weight which causes you to be slow and distracted. The best way to fix this problem is to drink plenty of water. The first challenge is getting my water in take up to par. So based on my weight I should drink 144.65oz.per day. I challenge you to do the same!!

So it has been a while and a lot has changed. First and foremost I redid the entire website and when thinking about it I came to a resolution after a lot of consideration. I have set my mind to doing weekly challenges to better my mind and soul. I am going to start them every Momday and add them to my daily living. So starting this Monday September 5th I will start my first 7 day challenge. I hope you cheer me on or come along for the ride this will be a struggle at some point but I hope the first few are easy. I am pleased to see how this changes my life and maybe yours too.
